Stephen L. Bruffett is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), a diversified $5.3 billion freight transportation and logistics services company headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich. Con-way delivers industry-leading services through its primary operating companies of Con-way Freight, Con-way Truckload, and Menlo Worldwide Logistics. These operating units provide high-performance, day-definite less-than-truckload (LTL), full truckload and multimodal freight transportation; logistics, warehousing and supply chain management services; and trailer manufacturing. Con-way Inc. and its subsidiaries operate from more than 500 operating locations across North America and in 20 countries across five continents.

Mr. Bruffett is the company's senior financial executive and is responsible for corporate finance and accounting, strategic planning, investor relations, tax, internal control and shared services for the parent corporation and its subsidiaries.  He also has management oversight of Con-way's information technology group.

Mr. Bruffett joined the Con-way organization in September 2008 and is a 20-year veteran of the freight transportation industry.

Mr. Bruffett started his trucking industry career in 1992 as director of Finance for LTL carrier American Freightways in his hometown of Harrison, Arkansas. Six years later he was recruited by the YRC organization, joining the company as director of financial planning and analysis for the then-Yellow Freight unit. Over the next 10 years he advanced through a series of increasingly responsible positions at YRC including management roles in finance and accounting, operations, investor relations, sales and marketing. He became YRC Worldwide's CFO in late 2007.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Mr. Bruffett earned his bachelor's degree in finance and banking in 1986 and later earned his MBA from the University of Texas in 1990.  He is based at Con-way's Ann Arbor, Michigan office.
